During today's lecture the class was taken through the module guide by our lecturer, Jo Bowman. She outlined the learning outcomes; what we are meant to have learned during this module, the outline delivery; the weekly planner of what we need to have covered during each lesson and outlined the assignment brief for the module over the next 12 weeks.
Brief Part 1: Build your own Face (Weeks 1-5)
This includes going through at least 6 video/written tutorials on how to create a 3D self portrait of your own face by utilising two images of the student’s face, a side on and a frontal facing image.
Brief Part 2: The Museum of Power (Weeks 5-12)
This will include a trip, in either an allocated group/individually, to the 'Museum of Power' based at Langford in Maldon, Essex. The trip will involve a tour of the vicinity, its locomotives and other machines. The brief will be in the form of a client set project where the group will pick a specific steam powered device and attempt to create a 3D Model of the chosen device on Studio Max.
(Note: There must be significant research on the chosen machine and the information and 3D model MUST be accurate in accordance with the initial research.)
During our first tutorial we were all given the opportunity to have out photo’s taken for the building of our 3D faces, one ‘Front View’ photo and one ‘Side on View’ or ‘Profile’ photo.
